Parents have a tough job these days because of the immediate access kids have to the internet. Not all of it is kid friendly. How are parents supposed to stay up on all of the newest games and websites?

This is one of the biggest questions that Kim Komando gets on her show. Good Morning America talked about it on one of their programs recently. There is some good advice in this video. Every parent should take a few minutes to watch it.

This is a short little video about how kids games on the internet and on the Iphone can provide content that you may not want them to see.

h1n1

The H1N1 Virus is creeping ever closer to our humble little abode. We discovered yesterday that our neighbors across the fence from us had the H1N1 virus all last week. Luckily non of our kids have played over there for at least a month. We still have not been vaccinated and our kids are still going to school. I don’t even think we can get a vaccination yet.

At the rate this virus is spreading, I’m sure it will visit us sometime soon. Especially due to the fact that we have 2 kids in Elementary, 1 in Middle School, and 1 at the High School. Wherever the virus might be, we have a child there ready to bring it home and share it with the rest of us. I didn’t even mention my wife, the Kindergarden teacher, that lives in the house, that has to deal with 50 runny nosed kindergarden’ers every day. It’s almost a mathematical certainty that we will contract it. The science is settled. ¬†We are doomed!

  • Scripture of the Day

    • "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors. And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed. Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world."

      Alma 34:32-34
